Summary: | Taman Sari region is located in North Bandung area. Taman Sari region is one of densely and slum area in Bandung City. This region has 119.6 Ha area with total population about 23,417 people. In this study, the RW 15 was chosen as case study for sewerage treatment and wastewater treatment. This planning area has 6.1 Ha, and total population in 2007 was 2780 people. By the year of 2029, RW 15's total population has been predicted to be 3,534 people. Consequently, the amount of clean water required in this area is getting higher. The improvement of clean water usage will cause the increasing of wastewater amount. One of the exertion to eliminate the contamination is by planning the sewerage and waste water treatment system. Sewerage and waste water treatment system is one of the supporting facilities to increase the quality of environmental sanitary. Considering its high population density, low water supply, low level of soil permeability, the flat gradient, and low percentage of septic tank users, the most appropriate alternative for RW 15 is a conventional system that designed to accept all household sewages without settled in septic tank. After that, yellow water as the effluent septic tank is treated by constructed wetland. Type of constructed wetland that will be applied in RW 15 is Horizontal Subsurface Wetland because there will be no water pond that can cause odor and become mosquito den.Other consideration to applied wetland is done to its high nutrient removal and low construction and maintenance cost. In designing the appropriate sewerage and waste water treatment system, several pipe-lines alternatives and treatment system were considered. According to some technical factors, one pipe-line and one treatment system were chosen to be applied in RW 15. Among three pipe lines, second pipe was the best one because it has the shortest total pipe length and major pipe, minimum unit of manhole and flush and the shortest flow time. |
