Summary:Geographically Indonesia is located in several fault-tracks or collisions between plates namely, Eurasia Plate and Indo-Australian Plate. As the consequence, Indonesia became vulnerable of earthquake. Earthquake which occurred in the ocean potentially cause tsunami. In less than 10 years, tsunami has killed more than a hundred thousand people in Aceh in 2004 and hundreds people in Pangandaran, specificly on July, 17 2006. Pangandaran is one of the area that vulnerable of earthquake which followed by tsunami. Based on these conditions, it is needed to create analysis of tsunami risk area that could be estimated by using satellite data and Geographic Information System (GIS). Tsunami risk areas obtained by estimating tsunami’s hazard areas and tsunami’s vulnerable areas. Hazard of tsunami is modelled from tsunami wave-height data while the vulnerable of tsunami is modelled from physical conditions, social demography, and economy data. Based on these modelings, analysis of tsunami risk areas could be done and hopefully it will be useful for disaster-mitigation so it could minimize the victims and material losses.
