REMOVAL OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM SLURRY FRACTION BIOWASTE IN ANAEROBIC BATCH REACTOR

Biodegradable components of municipal solid wastes such as fruit and vegetable wastes are produced in large quantities in markets, and constitute a source of nuisance in municipal landfills because of their biodegradability. Mechanical Biological Treatment is one of technologies to reduce the biodeg...

Mechanical Biological Treatment is one of technologies to reduce the biodegradability of organic fraction municipal solid wastes. This treatment involves mechanical and biological treatment. The aim of this research is to review the biodegradation process of biowaste in slurry with total solid variation in anaerob batch reactor and to know the optimum phase in organic degradation and biogas production. Biowastes used in this research were taken from Caringin Market, Bandung. Mechanical treatment included sorting, grinding, mixing, and separating, while biological treatment used in this research was anaerobic digestion using 4 L operational volume batch reactor. text
