| Summary: | Indonesia is an archipelagic country has an area of land beyond the sea. Potential sea in Indonesia can be used optimally to improve the welfare of the nation. Integrity and sovereignty of Indonesia needs to be maintained and one way is to have the firmness of the border region, particularly border waters with the other countries bordering the sea. Among the countries that border the sea with Indonesia only part of it which has been agreed sea border. From neighboring countries who have not agreed maritime boundaries one of which is the country of Palau. Maritime boundary has not been agreed upon by both countries is the Exclusive Economic Zone in the Pacific Ocean. The lack of a maritime boundary in this area often leads to conflict between the two countries. In this paper will be the establishment of Exclusive Economic Zone boundary Indonesia - Palau in the Pacific Ocean. In this study, the determination limit of the EEZ Indonesia - Palau in the Pacific Ocean was determined using a combination of equidistant principle and the principle of proportionality is based on the implementation of UNCLOS 1982. Results from this study that the principle of proportionality mununjukkan more properly applied to the case of inter-island nation. |
