The diameter of turbine runner must be smaller than its housing to avoid friction. But, the gap between runner and its housing must be arranged as small as possible becau if the gap is too big, it will cause a lot of power loss. The power that is produced from turbine becoming the functional aspect. And the value of the gap between runner and its housing becoming geometric characteristic. So, in this final project, writer try to put geometric and functional aspect into design process with crossflow water turbine design as a case study.<p>Finishing method that have been used to accomplished the case are literature study from related books, an also from the internet which refer to basic theory of crossflow water turbine and aldo geometric characteristic. Observation to the example of crossflow turbine also have been done several times. And also another recourses which helped to finish the final project.<p>Result of this final project is final design of crossflow water turbine with every detail of he components. Functional and geometric aspect have been applicated with the utilization of geometrical tolerance to guarantee that turbine will operate as good as possible. Also the making of detail technical drawing so that every component is ready to be produced. text
