Description
Summary:Remote sensing offers an easier, faster, efficient way and it covers larger area for measuring carbon stocks. In this study, the carbon stock in Bandung Basin is measured by remote sensing methods from Landsat satellite imagery data for 1999, 2002 and 2005. Carbon stock is measured by the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from satellite imagery data for later use in model estimation of carbon stocks. The results of the measurements for estimated carbon stocks in 1999, 2002 and 2005 respectively are 522272.91 tons, 494512.98 tons, and 561683.33 tons. Due to no field measurement data in Bandung Basin to perform validation, the results of this study can be used as an estimation of carbon stocks in Bandung Basin. This information is useful for people to monitor emission gasses in Bandung Basin.
