Technology in groundwater investigation is purposed on knowing and reconstructing the aquifer and its system often obstacle by limited geological data because of no outcrops. Therefore, a geophysical method is taken to support it. The geophysical method usually use for mapping aquifer geometry is Ground Penetrating Radar. The research involves the use of the electromagnetics method with radio frequency at 150 MHz and 800 MHz.

This research starts with field observation following by laboratory modeling as a comparison of field data. Processing data is done to obtain physical properties such as velocity (Vm) and permitivity, along with knowing the geometry of aquifer in Cikapundung River-Bandung.

Laboratory result indicate the difference of reflectors position between dry condition and wet condition. In dry, thickness of the layer imaging by radargram is 0.2944 metres and 0.3179 metres in wet. The layer moves 0.0235 metres thicker in wet. Field images show that geometry of aquifer in West-side of the river has a negative gradient towards South-East and in East-side of the river has a gradient towards South-West. Both of the aquifer fills the river or efluent.
text
