Summary: | Classification is one of many applications of remote sensing technology which uses by interpretation and identification the area. Information extracted from the classification result can be used for various reason, one of them is to use it for analyzing land cover and land use mapping. Land use and land cover map can be used as reference by government or private company to plan a city and development, either for short and long term development. This research tried to map land use and land cover by using supervised classification with Maximum likelihood method in Western Bandung Regency using Landsat-7 ETM and ALOS satellite data. Classification was done in two methods, one is to crop a classified image and first crop the image based on the administrative region. Maps that produced from the two method mentioned above are tested using overall accuracy test by comparing it to the land cover and land use map of West Java 2001. The final result of this research is to get the best method of the two methods mentioned above for land use and land cover classification. |
