Description
Summary:The dimensionless IPR curve equations for gas well have been developed recently based on open hole condition. The phenomena of skin occured around wellbore has been observed to IPR curve. Beside that, natural fracture or hydraulically fractured gas reservoir has been also considered its relation with IPR curve. However, there is no dimensionless IPR equation to determine the performance of gas well with bottom aquifer as drive mechanism.
This research is intented to obtain the dimensionless IPR equation for dry gas well produced from reservoir with bottom aquifer as drive mechanism. The equation is acquired by conducting numerical modeling using CMG simulator. Aquifer is modeled using the facility in simulator. Modelled aquifers have the different volumes to describe their strength. A aquifer is called "strong" if it has volume ten times than reservoir volume. The research result show that aquifer strength does not give the effect to obtained dimensionless IPR curve. Therefore, it was obtained one dimensionless IPR for gas well with and without aquifer.
The future performance of gas well is studied in this research. The analysis result show that aquifer strength influence the obtained IPR prediction equation. By using regression analysis for dimensionless IPR predicting curve, it will be acquired the result in form of type curve. This type curve could be used to predict the comparison between aquifer and gas reservoir volume.
