Summary: | Domestic waste becomes to big problem for city government, because quantity of domestic waste growing in accordance with citizens population growth, whereas Final Disposal Area were limited. Base on Perusahaan Daerah Kebersihan Kota Bandung's data in 2004, daily quantity of domestic waste are 7500 m3/day or 1875 ton/day (with assumption domestic waste density is 0.25 ton/m3).<p>In 2003, BPPT through Pusat Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi Lingkungan made new method call Integrated Waste Management, with recycle an-organic waste and composting organic waste, with result that waste residue as 18% or equal with 1350 m3/day (337.5 ton/day).<p>The effective method for reducing waste volume was using Incinerator, which can bum solid waste to be ash and reduce volume up to 10-20%.<p>This research focusing on incinerator design in accordance with Bandung City waste capacity and can be challenge in quality that linkage with customer needs, good quality design and investment cost.<p>Quantitative data processing using Conjoint Analysis as customers measurement tools, Cluster Analysis as customer grouping tools, Quality Function Deployment as generate technical characteristic specification targets and Generic Product Development to determine product architecture.<p>Product research indicated that appropriate incinerator for managing Bandung City domestic waste using 5 units incinerator with capacity 80 ton/day, respectively with investment cost 9.822.000.000,- rupiah for each incinerator and daily operational cost 3.000.000,- rupiah. |
