Summary: | Biowaste is the municipal waste that can be degraded by microorganisms. High organic components in biowaste can be an obstacle in waste treatment by landfilling. One of the organic contents of urban waste is a waste of fruits and vegetables produced in large quantities in the market. The increasing of garbage is not accordance with the availability of landfill, so we need appropriate treatment processes to reduce the volume of waste that must be removed to a landfill. Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) is one of technology that can be applied to reduce the high organic content in waste. MBT technology has two stages, mechanical and biological. Mechanical stage that consists of sorting, counting, mixing with the rinse water and separation. While on stage anaerobic biological processes used by using 2.5 L operational volume batch reactor. The aim of this research is to review the biodegradation process of biowaste in solid phase in anaerob batch reactor and to know the optimum phase in organic degradation and biogas production. |
