Clean water supply and appropriate sanitation are related to environmental pollution rate. Bandung City as one of the developed city tends to have water supply and sanitation infrastructure problems. Study done to describe clean water supply and sanitation accessibility rate of Bandung citizen and then being connected to pollution rate that happened. Watersource mostly used are tap water, hand pump well, and dug well. Tap water is such watersource having the lowest pollution rate compared to other watersources. Generally, the accessibility rate of water supply, toilet, and wastewater disposal facilities have been spread evenly in 30 subdistrists of Bandung city, with percentage 78.21% for water supply, 67.08% for toilet, and 64.08% for wastewater disposal facility. Percentage of infrastructure that have fulfilled the criteria is also good enough; 69.43% for clean water supply, 82.24% for toilet, and 84.83% for wastewater disposal facility. However, there are still some subdistricts having less water supply and sanitation accessibility rate as compared to other subdistricts, those are Cinambo, Buahbatu, and Bojongloa Kidul subdistrict. This could be happened because of social and economic factors. The water supply and domestic wastewater sanitation infrastruture that has been good enough in Bandung City, has not given big contribution towards pollution rate reduction in Citarum River because there is wastewater disposed directly into water bodies. text |
