This fault has significant potential of seismic hazard, it can be seen from the historical seismicity that have occurred in the region of Cimandiri fault that classified as damage earthquake, more over Cimandiri fault lines is a region with dense population and the number of buildings and infrastructure also located in this region. Therefore, observation is necessary to monitor the Cimandiri fault. Geodetic method (GPS observation) is one of best technique. To study the characteristics of Cimandiri fault, geodetic observations carried by episodic GPS observation around the region Cimandiri fault. This observation has been done five times since 2006-2010. Based on the results of data processing, sites observation shifted to the southeast with a velocity vector around 1-4cm/year. After the block motion eliminated, sites observation has velocity vectors from 3mm/year until 2 cm/year. text |
