Summary: | Soreang Sub District is the capital of Bandung Regency which has a total area of 2.425 Ha and consists of 10 villages. Average population density is 45,341 %. Currently water demand is supplied by Tirta Raharja WTP, Soreang Branch, which has a total capacity of 120 litres/second. Drinking water requirements in 2030 is expected to increase to become 337 litres/second which will certainly not be able to be fulfilled by Tirta Raharja WTP, Soreang Branch. Therefore a new WTP is planned to serve the needs of Soreang Sub District residents drinking water during 20 years (2010-2030). New location of WTP is planned adjacent to the existing WTP which is located in the Sukamaju Village. Raw water source for WTP is Cisangkuy River located at an altitude of ± 927 m above sea level. Based on the results of laboratory analysis, the parameters of Cisangkuy River that exceeds drinking water quality standards stipulated in KEPMENKES RI No. 907/Menkes/SK/VII/2002 are color, turbidity, and manganese. Therefore, the processing units that will be used are screening, retention basin, presedimentation, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and reservoir. Type of sedimentation unit is a rectangular sedimentation tank with horizontal flow using plate settlers. Percent removal will be determined by curve method and will be corrected on turbulent flow condition. Plate settlers can increase laminarity and stability in the flow sedimentation tank, the need for land is relatively small compared with the conventional tank, and a relatively short detention time. |
