Description
Summary:Block X located in the north of South Sumatra Basin produces natural gas. Natural gas is processed in facility X, separated from its water and condensate, removed from its contaminants, and processed again until it produces dry gas and NGL (Natural Gas Liquid). Although it has unit facility to produce NGL, facility X doesn't has unit facility to handle the NGL itself. It is necessary to process NGL to be LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) and condensate before it sold. Therefore a new LPG plant is needed to built to handle this "NGL from block X". NGL from block X is called as NGL X. Based on technical and economical aspects, LPG plant to handle this NGL X will be built in Marine Terminal Z (MTZ) which located 150 km from block X. MTZ is a place for storing and offloading NGL’s products from another company, and NGL X will be planned to be stored and offloaded there too. Design of LPG plant in MTZ consist of pipeline design from facility X to MTZ, fractionation unit design, and liquefying unit design. The design to process NGL X from natural gas until it becomes its products itself is described in this study. The design is simulated by using Aspen HYSIS 3.2.
