Casing drilling is the method allows well to be drilled and cased simultaneously by using conventional oilfield casing as the drillstring. Losses were encountered when drilling through the weak zone, but it quickly healed as the casing passed by the zone. The remainder of the well was drilled with no losses, even while with 10.5 ppg mud. This phenomenon believed to be the result of cutting flow up the annulus kicked by the rotated casing to the wellbore wall and plaster it. This plastering affect mechanically builds an impermeable filter cake that seals both the normal formation porosity and fractures and makes wellbore integrity become stronger. <br /> <br /> <br /> Applying this innovative technology in Indonesia especially onto well-X would be extremely profitable. From the calculation and analysis for the application of this technology onto this well, no need to change the specification of the rig and casing design. So the design of the rig and casing on the application of conventional drilling in well-X can be used in order to casing drilling program.
