This method uses the sun and earth's thunder activity as the source of electromagnetic wave. Its capability in mapping deep resistivity structure and point per point acquisition has made this method essential to geothermal prospecting. 2D resistivity structure modeling with Magnetotelluric describes sub surface geological structure clearer so model validation with surface geological information can be upgraded. This makes interpretation of cap zone, reservoir and heat source can be done in a better way. 'Buah Batu' geothermal field is in the south region of 'Bandung' Island which made because of the activity of Indo-Australia and Pacific plates. This field is above 'Sunda' Fault with N-S orientation as regional main structure which is predicted as the heated fluid outflow under the altered rock zone. Surface heat manifestations in fumaroles and hot springs in altered rock zone have made this field as a prospect to geothermal exploration. The cap zone is thought to be thinning between on the east part of line 1 and line 2 which predicted was covering MT 8 to MT 11. The cap zone between line 2 and line 3 is predicted to be thickening under MT 13 to MT 16. This prediction leads to probability of cap zone continuity on the south side of line 3. text
