Description
Summary:Reservoir heterogenity is commonly found in the petroleum world. Basically, heterogeneity will affect the oil recovery we gain in surface. The more heterogenic reservoir we have, the lesser oil recovery factor we get. In this study, research has been made to discover the way to increase the oil recovery factor by injecting surfactant as surface active agent. The injection of surfactant as surface active agent is one of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Method which works by decreasing the interfacial tension between oil and water phase face. Many considerations need to be made in injecting the surfactant itself. By a better planning, the application of Surfactant Injection Method is expected to gain not only a better result in increasing oil recovery but also to be an efficient method economically. In this study, a commercial simulator, Eclipse, is used to see the relation between recovery factor and sensitivity in the reservoir system. Several varieties of parameters are used to see the relation, such as surfactant concentration, injection rate, and production well rate.
