However, there are still many problems that have not been well understood, especially the correlation between fractures and stylolite distribution with facies and diagenetics. Rajamandala carbonate complex cropped out in Padalarang area, West Java, has been subject for detail studied by various researcher. Fractures and stylolite distribution have pattern that contolled by the rock characterization and structural process. The fractures and stylolite distribution patterns are very important due to secondary porosity. The objectives of this study are to characterize the relationship of limestone facies to distribution of fractures and. Thousands fractures and stylolites were collected from six scanline locations and three wells in Cikamuning. Thousands fracture type including shear fractures (732 fractures), extension fractures (401 fractures), and 892 stylolites were observed. These sampling locations are in packstone-grainstone, framestone-rudstone, bindstone-framestone, bindstone, breccia, and marl. Stylolites occur in two different orientation (NW and NE), parallel bedding and perpendicular to bedding plane. Fracture analysis indicates that packstone-grainstone and framestone-rudstone facies tend to have more fractures and rudstone facies tend to have more stylolites than the other facies. In case of increasing the porosity number affect the decreasing number of fractures intensity. Distance to fault controlled the fracture distribution. The nearest location with the fault has the biggest number of fracture intensity. Fracture character from fracture analysis used as input for DFN fracture modeling. Therefore, in modeling process there are some uncertainty cause by the simplification data and subjectivity to using the distibution methods. text |
