The unloading process from ships to <br /> <br /> <br /> cement silos requires an appropriate transport system. In this study, pneumatic conveying system is a system that is considered appropriate. This research aims is to design a pneumatic conveying system. <br /> <br /> <br /> The design process is executed by selecting pipe diameter, calculating the pressure drop along the pipeline route, and also calculation of the energy consumption of the whole system. Dense phase system is selected due to lower <br /> <br /> <br /> energy consumption compared to dilute phase system. According to the calculation results, the spesification of major equipment such as air mover, feeder, pipe, and separator can be selected. The proposed design of pneumatic conveying system is the combination of vacuum system and positive-pressure system. Vacuum system works on the <br /> <br /> <br /> solid loading ratio of 17 with vacuum pressure at 0.535 bara and requires 468 kW of adiabatic power. Positive-pressure system works on solid loading ratio of 38.18 <br /> <br /> <br /> with system pressure drop of 4.9 bar and 885.5 kW of adiabatic power. text |
