Because of reduction from petroleum, we need a new energy source or an energy which can help us to economize the usage of petroleum. One of the solutions to overcome the insufficiency of energy problem is adding oxyhydrogen gas into combustion chamber. oxyhydrogen gas (HHO) is a result of water electrolysis. This experiment is purposed to observe whether economizing will occur if HHO filled into combustion chamber. The method of this experiment is measuring 25 ml of fuel consumption time with four load variation and changing the number of cells as another comparison variable. It uses for strokes Otto engine, 1 cylinder with 100 cc of capacity and 3300W of maximum power. <br /> <br /> <br /> The most HHO produced is when HHO generator using 5 cells with 12V 8A electricity supplies. This experiment uses SFC and efficiency as a parameter. From experiment result, the biggest savings occurs when it uses HHO generator with 5 sel. It can save 112 rupiahs/kWh of average loaded, and also 0.6825 liter/kWh of SFC. It happens because HHO has function as reaction catalyst during burning process. HHO causes burning process becoming more perfect. The conclusions from this experiment are HHO gas makes SFC decrease and increase the efficiency when load is over 70%. When load under 70%, SFC engine which supplied by HHO is bigger than SFC engine doesn’t get supplies. It is occurred because when the load is low, the crankshaft rotation will be high and the pressure in combustion chamber is more vacuum. It is possible for HHO to change into water in intake manifold because of its low pressure. text
