Nowadays, human dependency on petroleum as energy source is quite high. Petroleum is used on almost every sector of human life, either in household activity, transportation or industry activity. This dependency increase year after <br /> <br /> <br /> year, otherwise the petroleum supply is running out. One of the solution offered to solve that problem is to use coal as energy source. Coal is non-renewable resources because take a long period of time to form it. Nevertheless, coal supply is higher than petroleum supply. Although coal is quite excessive, in general, contained energy from coal is <br /> <br /> <br /> smaller than oil. According data from literature, energy contained on highest quality coal (anthracite) is 31.400 kJ/kg [14]. Due to the lack of contained energy of coal, there is necessity to use proper coal energy usage technique. One of the techniques to use coal energy is gasification. <br /> <br /> <br /> This research goal is to conduct test on continuous system gasification reactor which has been built. Beside that, the other goals are to know continuous system gasifier characteristic and to conduct analysis of gas formed in coal gasification.
