Based on observations of land subsidence study in Bandung Basin with GPS observations from 2000-2012, with an average rate 6,3 cm/year and can reach 19 cm/year in some locations. While the total subsidence of observation points along the years 2000-2012, can reach 229 cm.

Land subsidence happens at the Bandung Basin is allegedly caused by groundwater extraction, construction of buildings and infrastructure, consolidation of the soil type is alluvial soil degradation, and also due to the geotectonic process.
