Description
Summary:Zeroth Prototype (Prototype 0) of mini beverages cooler had been designed and built in the previous Final Project. Prototype 0 was designed to cool a beverage to 15 oC in 30 minutes with maximum voltage of 10 V.

Prototype 0 could not reach the desired temperature, instead the beverage temperature reached a mere 21 oC in two hours. This result concluded that there is too much of air inside cooling chamber and this air gap suppressed heat transfer between beverage and thermoelectric module below it.

Thus, Prototype I is designed and then built as an improvement to prototype 0. Prototype I has a cooling chamber that fit the beverage can so that the amount of air inside is reduced. Prototype I is also using aluminum for inside wall of cooling chamber as surface enhancement in order to increase heat transfer.

Prototype I was tested and the results show that Prototype I could cool a 250 ml coffee can to 15 oC in 65 minutes. The required time did not agree with the design, it is 35 minutes longer than desired. This circumstances happen due to the actual heat flux was lower than it should which is caused by errors in the manufacturing.
