Summary: | One of the most critical phase of the operation encountered by an aircraft is landing at will. For this reason the use of various navigational aids equipment and procedures for landings. Reliability and quality of the landing procedure used will greatly affect the level of safety when going to a landing plane. To determine the quality of a landing at an airport procedures required testing that involves all parties, whether airport security and airline staff from particular pilots. Of course, this testing will take time and amount of costs and of course have a big enough risk.

Therefore, the authors conduct a theoretical and simulation-based research to develop a method to determine the level of quality of landing and approach procedure at the airport by using flight simulation software. Method of using Microsoft Flight Simulator ® (MFS) are of course much easier and safer. By performing the validation of data - data obtained from the simulation with theoretical calculations will get a picture of the accuracy of the data obtained.

After knowing that the data obtained is accurate, then this method can then be used to determine the level of difficulty of some of the existing landing procedures at Soekarno - Hatta airport, and Minangkabau airport, and Polonia airport.

From a series of simulation tests using a pilot test of a real pilot and non-real pilot data obtained showed that the sequence of the three levels of difficulty from the airport. The sequence is Soekarno - Hatta as the easiest, followed by the Minangkabau airport and the airport was the hardest Polonia airport. In addition to testing the existing landing priosedur, even this method can be used to design a new landing procedure. |
