This is the first time performance engine testing that using dual fuel diesel engine solar – biogas which comes from Jatropha curcas cakes. <br /> <br /> <br /> The objective of this project it to understand the biogas fuel characteristic toward performance and emission on dual fuel diesel engine. The biogas fuel that is used was coming <br /> <br /> <br /> from Jatropha Curcas L. Diesel motor that is used is Tian Li Diesel Motor one cylinder, 815 cc, 4 (four) strokes, direct syringe type, maximum power 14 Hp on 2,000 rpm and <br /> <br /> <br /> compression ratio 1 : 20. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result of the test was showing that the usage of the biogas fuel could decrease maximum effective power is 6,8% and also decrease maximum thermal efficiency (Et) is <br /> <br /> <br /> 36%. This project also able to press down solar BSFC amount 40,1 % at 1.500 rpm operation, but the specific energy consumption value was increasing. On the other side, the CO, CO2, and HC emission was increasing, while the O2 everage emission decrease 1,29% and opacity was decreasing round about 79%. text |
