Rising of the tin’s price triggered the increasing of suction dradger ship needed to enhance the production. Kapal isap produksi is designed by using reverse engineering method. In that case, an initial design was needed to provide the allowable analysis which due to some additional technology inside the ship. Some of design analysis that was conducted was stability of the ship and <br />

strength of ladder structure. Initial stability KIP was influenced by center of gravity and center of buoyancy. A ship can be categorized with stable equilibrium if position <br />
<br />
<br />
of its weight and buoyancy’s force could produce righting moment to counter force from outside the ship. Besides, freeboard of the ship must be more than 50 cm in normal condition. The initial ladder construction analysis is needed to verify if the safety factor was allowable. If the initial analysis did not give the allowable safety factor, modification is needed to increase the safety factor. <br />

Result of the analysis showed that additional pontoon was needed to increase the value of freeboard. Also, ladder design modification was needed to get 1.5 safety factor. |
