One part of study about human movement analysis that specifically studied the characteristics of human walking is called gait analysis. Gait analysis is instrumental in medical rehabilitation because it gives quantative information of human body segments during walking. The information is referred to as gait parameters and are used for determining abnormalities, therapy protocol, and monitoring of patient therapy. Gait parameters consist of spatio temporal (cycle time, cadence, stride length and speed), kinematics-kinetics analysis, myoelectric and ground reaction force. To obtain gait parameters, an integrated human walking analyser system is needed. <br /> <br /> <br /> This study is part of an effort to develop an integrated system to analyze of human gait for medical rehabilitation at Indonesian hospitals. Recently, a 2D analysis system of human gait has been developed. However, many information of gait parameters could not be obtained from the system. Therefore, a 3D human gait system is developed. This research main objective is developing a software to process and display 3D kinematics parameter of human walking based on position and displacement of markers attached to the human extremities. <br /> <br /> <br /> Observational data is in form of marker position data as a function of time in x, y, z axis. Then, observational data is processed and calculated to obtain necessary parameters for medical rehabilitation. To obtain good result, at first the marker position data should be smoothed to eliminate noise before further processing. This research presents parameters of spatio temporal, linear kinematics (positions, velocities, accelerations of joints and segments central gravity) and angular kinematics (joint angle, angular velocities and angular accelerations). text |
