Because of that reason, it is necessary to improve the knowlede about mechanical caracteristic and behavior of elastomer under certain case of loading. <br /> <br /> <br /> This research is a part of rubber mechanics research held by EDC ITB. But, this final project only contains the mechanical experiment and analysis of Indonesian Natural Rubber NR Indonesian Synthetic Rubber NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) and chloroprene rubber. <br /> <br /> <br /> The uniaxial tension test is subjected to Indonesian rubber specimen using three different strain rates (0,001/s; 0,01/s; 0,1/s), while the experimental result of chloroprene rubber is obtained from a litearture written by Jorgen Bergstorm “Large strain time-dependent behavior of elastomeric materials” Based on the experimental datas and literature, it can be concluded that all of those samples are hiperelastic and viscoelastic due to hysterisis, stress relaxaton and stress softening (time dependent behavior). text
