Description
Summary:Medical imaging technology allow us to observe inner part of a human body. Through CT and MRI, two dimensional image of tissue or human organ can be produced and reconstructed to a three dimensional image. Up to these days, view of medical imaging is controlled directly by human-computer interaction, for example through mouse or keyboard. Along with the advance in technology, wireless technology is shown up and makes the human-computer interaction one

step ahead. For example is an interaction method called gesture recognition. This final project intends to design interactive user interface application for two and three dimensional image. Image we used are medical image. A controller called Wii Remote (Wiimote) is used on this project. Bluetooth connectivity, accelerometer and infra red is the reason why wiimote is used. Accelerometer can

recognize gesture recognition of a human hand. Application is divided into two major part, two dimensional medical imaging application and three dimensional medical imaging application. Matlab programming language is used to write the application. The result shows the application can receive wiimote’s input, hand gesture or buttons, and match the medical image result. Gesture input are three axis rotation (roll, pitch, and yaw) and forward-backward translation (zoom). It is hoped this application could give a new alternative and help for a doctor or medical team to

observe a medical image.
