Summary: | Cibeber area and surrounding, has a pretty interesting geology characteristic. Research area located at 1060 36’ 30” – 106o 38’ 30” BT and 6o 33’ 00” – 6o 36’ 30” LS. With 28 Km2 wide (4 km X 7 km). Geomorphology of the research area has certain pattern, such as mountain pattern, stream pattern and valley pattern controlled by structure and litology. There are four geomorphologic units in the research area: Folded Mountain, Folded Valley, Volcanic Mountain, and Alluvial Plain.
Stratigraphy of the research are divided into five units, from the oldest to the youngest are Claystone Unit with the age of Middle Miocene equal to Cibulakan Formation dominated by claystone. Sandstone Unit and Limestone Unit with the age of Middle Miocene to Early Late Miocene equal to Bojongmanik Formation dominated by sandstone, limestone and tuff. Volcano Breccia I, II and III with the age of Early Pleistocene to Late Pleistocene and Alluvial Units with the age of Recent.

Geological structures developed in the area are thrust fault and strike-slip faults which have NE-SW trend and folding structure of anticline and syncline. The structure was formed in Plio-Pleistocene. |
