Electrochemical method such as voltammery offer many advantages because it requires simple instrumentation and can be used for analysis that require high sensitivity and selectivity. Carbon paste electrode can be used in voltammetric <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> determination of acetaminophen in the medicines but it sensitivity is low. Modification of carbon paste electrode is required to improve its sensitivity toward acetaminophen. In this research, carbon paste electrode was modified with polyphenol oxidase enzyme obtained from banana extract. This enzyme was trapped on the surface of the electrode with poly(3-aminophenol). Two methods of modification has been studied. Phosphate buffer of pH 7 was <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> used as supporting electrolyte for the voltammetric determination of acetaminophen. Calibration curves of acetaminophen show the best linearity at concentration range of 0,1 – 1,0 mM with detection limit of 1,34 &#956;M. Percent recovery of acetaminophen in commercial medicines was 98,82-102,42 % that showed great accuracy. The results obtained with voltammetric method was in good agreement with those of colorimetric method. text
