The implementation of BOT system in the Indonesian toll roads development involves risks faced by the private sector which, at the end, have the potentials to influence the project itself. This study aims to describe the perception of several private sector companies in Indonesia on the risk factors faced in BOT toll road projects. Data from these companies were collected through a survey using questionnaire and interview method. An analysis of survey results is conducted to determine the risk factors’ severity and likelihood values serving as a basis for risk ranking. A root cause analysis method is applied to find the main risk factors which can induce other risks. A suggestion for risk mitigation is provided. text
