Such knowledge is concerned with information systems/information technology (IS/IT) with respect to organizational business needs. Organization must be able to manage their knowledge (knowledge management, KM) well in order to increase their value and competitive advantages by their knowledge, for instance when making an appropriate decision in Decision Support Systems (DSS). Knowledge sharing is a sub system of KM. Knowledge sharing is concerned with individual’s intention to share their knowledge with others in organizations. Knowledge sharing is considered to be successful when the knowledge recipient could understand and apply the knowledge which they obtained from the knowledge source. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> An information systems research framework developed by Hevner et al. was employed as a reference so that this study may be conducted in systematically and controllable. The analytical phase in this study includes defining the perspective, collecting the knowledge library, defining the important factors, defining the supporting activities, and defining the relevant attribute of quality. The objective of defining the perspective step is to give a clear understanding of problem scope from different point of view, mention in this case as individual perspective and organization perspective. The knowledge library is obtained from the results of recent research and used in order to have the basis for defining the factors that may influence the knowledge sharing in dominant. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Five factors are defined as influencing factors toward knowledge sharing. Those factors including absorptive capacity factor, communication competence factor, reciprocal relationship factor, sense of enjoy helping factor, and organizational reward factor. The step of defining supporting activities aims to give a clear understanding about activities need to be conducted by the organization in order to support the implementation of knowledge sharing. Those activities consists of creating the organization climate and culture; facilitating sharing activities such as forum, discussion, training, and seminar; establishing the communities of practice; using appropriate technology in behalf of effective knowledge sharing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The essence of this study is to develop or build artifact which consists of constructs, models, methods, and instantiation. Constructs and models are represented in framework, methods are represented in implementation guidelines, while instantiation is not represented in this study because it needs to be implemented in the field. Constructs in this study consist of important factors that may influence the knowledge sharing and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> activities need to support the implementation of knowledge sharing. Data were collected from 32 respondent of employee in information technology division across the Indonesian enterprises to validate those identified constructs. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The final result of this study shows a framework design proposal for knowledge sharing implementation which may be employed as guidance for organization that has planned to implement knowledge sharing in their field in the future. This study has contributed to new knowledge concerning on how to identify the important factors that may influence the knowledge sharing, how to identify the activities need to support the implementation of knowledge sharing, thus how to design and conduct the knowledge sharing implementation framework in organizational field. text
