Description
Summary:Oil is a very important resource to the world. Today, because of the energy crisis that the whole world is experiencing, the consumption of oil have to be conserved by decreasing the usage of fuel. People have been searching very hard to find a solution to solve this problem. The best solution for now is to find a way to decrease fuel consumption. One of the ways to do that is by using fuel additives on engines.

The objective of this research is to determine the fuel saving performances of four different gasoline fuel additives and their most effective application. The

research is done on stationery operation, using a gasoline generator set with electric heaters as loads. The specific fuel consumption for every additized fuel sample is then calculated and compared with the specific fuel consumption of the unadditized fuel. In the end, the economic impact of gasoline additives usage is calculated and then compared to one another.

The research shows that most of the gasoline additives work well on low and medium loading conditions, but showed less beneficial performance on heavy loading. On the economic side, most of the fuel additives only shows benefits if

used on low loads.

This research found out that the best additive to use on 33%, 67% and 100% load is—in order—TA-4 300 PPM, TA-4 300 PPM and TA-1 300 PPM. It also concludes that the gasoline additives only saves fuel on low and medium loading conditions. The additives can saves costs if used on low loads.
