Description
Summary:Indonesian automotive industry grows along with the economic growth. As a consequence, automotive components industry becomes a promising industry because of the development in the automotive market. The growth of the market resulting a request for ITB to design clutch testing equipments as a final project.

This final project is the last series of clutch testing equipment design and manufacturing. Some equipments that have been made before are durability tester which is final project by Wijanarko, 2008 and stroking fatigue tester which is final project by Halim, 2008. In this final project, the main objective is to design and manufacture torsional durability test rig.

Initially, some basic idea have been made to design torsional durability test rig. Each of the basic design is evaluated thoroughly until the slider-crank mechanism and hydraulic system came out as the best idea. Almost every part of the testing equipment is manufactured at the workshop of Mechanics and Mechanical Construction Laboratory, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, ITB. After the testing equipment is manufactured, an experiment is performed to see if the testing equipment works. Experiment has been performed and the testing equipment proofed to be working well. For the future work, the equipment needs to have sensors so the

load can be maesured. In addition a control system need to be installed to automate the testing process.
