Degradation of the Citarum River catchments area has reduced its capacity to haul rain water. During high peak flows in the rainy season, large amounts of eroded soil are washed down. This eroded soil are converted to sediment that passed through the river system. This sediment can affect the water...

During high peak flows in the rainy season, large amounts of eroded soil are washed down. This eroded soil are converted to sediment that passed through the river system. This sediment can affect the water distribution network. In this research, Saguling Reservoir is used as the water distribution network object. Beside uncollected garbage accumulation into the drainage system and rivers. Total Suspended Solid (TSS) is solid materials, including organic and inorganic, that are suspended in water. In water quality context, it is necessary to know TSS condition for specific area and time, consequently we need more time and cost. Remote sensing data can be used to analyze such parameter in spatial and temporal manner, so the time and cost can be reduced. The problem is it is difficult to find the suitable algorithm for water quality extraction for Indonesian waters. This study combined in-situ optical measurements, satellite derived reflectance, and geospatial data to evaluate TSS spatial and temporal variations in Saguling Reservoir. The result of this study represent an important advance in the development and application of Remote Sensing and GIS based on studies in water quality extraction for Indonesian waters. text
