Global impact of the volcanic ash is climatic disturbance due to its high eruption columns and its wide dispersal. Volcanic ash is abrasive and corrosive, also has several impacts on society such as disruption to the quality of soil and water supply, human health, disruption to electricity and communication systems, disruption to infrastructure and buildings, crop failure, famine, and even to cause death. Other impacts are disruption to transportation, especially aviation, both domestic and international. Various mitigation efforts have been implemented in order to reduce the number of casualties and environmental damage due to volcanic eruptions, especially volcanic ash hazard. One such effort is the preparation of volcanic hazard map. Information on volcanic ash dispersion on the existing hazard map is still shown in the equitable distribution of the specified radius. Probabilistic model is an approach in determining the appropriate volcanic ash ground loading based on a scenario. The scenario design using the worst.case scenario based on historical eruption 2002 of Papandayan Volcano. This model is measurable and accurate, and can contribute in the improvement of hazard map, so that recommendations on the volcanic ash hazard in a prone area can be understood on mitigation efforts. Input data for the model are the physical characteristics of volcanic ash as reflected in the tephra observation in the field and supported by laboratory test. The influence of winds condition (wind speed and direction, pressure and temperature of each atmosphere layer) are also required in modeling. Probabilistic model using 13.140 scenarios for nine years wind condition. The result of the modeling is map of probabilistic volcanic ash ground loading in Papandayan Volcano equipped with isochrone map and map of volcanic ash threat to the land use around Papandayan Volcano. These results are expected to support mitigation of volcanic ash hazard and support government programs related to disaster management in Indonesia. text
