First step for building the engine is to calculate thermodynamics and propulsion <br />

aerodynamics based on the paper “The Design of Small Turbojet Engine for High Speed UAV” <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
written by Dr. Firman Hartono from ITB. The second step is to obtain the type and rough dimension <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
of compressor, combustion chamber, turbine, nozzle, and shaft system of the engine. Translating <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
process from that theoretically designs type to the ready for production design, called “mechanical <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
system design”, give some engineering consideration and unpredictable aerodynamics losses. For <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
example, the design for the size and location of the bolt can influence aerodynamic stream at the <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
compressor. So, we decide which a design that can give less unexpected loses and more simple <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
manufacturing method for the components. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Engine starting and idle running test have already done. The result shows that the idle <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
condition of the engine is not achieved yet. Therefore, some further works are still needed. |
