Summary:The development of Rubber Goods by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia is needed to meet the demand of rubber goods in Indonesia and increase the rubber goods export. SMEs of Rubber Goods should be developed in the region which has a great potential of natural rubber, such as South Sumatra. The purpose of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> this research is to develop a model which can be used as a reference to propose the policy for the development of rubber goods by SMEs in South Sumatra. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Model Corak Bisnis Perusahaan by Lubis (1984) is used as a basis in this research to developed the Success Model of Rubber Goods SMEs. This research uses the Delphi <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Method to construct model. The success of Rubber Goods SMEs are influenced by nine factors, i.e.: i) Material; ii) Production Process; iii) Product; iv) Human Resources; v) Capital and Finances; vi) Entrepreneurship; vii) Marketing; viii) Technology; and ix) Servicing Programs. The nine factors are further elaborated into 37 research variables. This research uses gap analysis between SMEs of Rubber Goods in South Sumatra and SMEs of Rubber Goods in West Java which has been survived at least for 8 years period as the standard of comparison. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> It has been found that SMEs of Rubber Goods in South Sumatra has some lacks in: Entrepreneur Experience; The Origin of Main Material; Financial Management; External Services; The Origin of Supporting Material; Product Meet the Order; Marketing Region; and Product Control. The recommended policies are: Services for Entrepreneurship; Soft Credit for Banbury Mixer and Production Equipments; Financial Management Assistances; Information of Supporting Material and Market; Activation of Technical Assistance Unit; and Participation of South Sumatra SMEs of Rubber Goods in The Product Exhibitions.
