Description
Summary:The performance of intersection affects urban road network while traffic signals are implemented to reduce number of conflict points. Right-turn movement at signalized intersection gives significant effect on other movements especially while number of heavy vehicles and motorcycle are present.

The objective of this study is to analyze passenger car equivalents (pce) for heavy vehicle and motorcycle that make turning right at unopposed saturated traffic conditions in signalized intersection.

Observations were conducted by videotaped traffic flow at intersection for 12 hours at 14 approaches of four intersection located in Bandung. The observations focused on the morning, midday and afternoon peak periods. There were 543 cycles were obtained for analysis and those were divided into five second time slices.

Saturation flow for the unopposed right turn movement was calculated using the method from ARR No.123 which analyzing the mix traffic composition that releasing from the intersection for every green time period. The minimum saturation flow is 1193 veh/hour (for Pasir Koja Intersection) and the maximum is 5694 veh/hour (for Dr, Djunjunan Intersection). Further analyses show the mean pcu values for HV's and MC's are respectively 1.43 and 0.17. For increasing of motorcycle percentage at signalized intersection, it will be affected decreasing of pce value for motorcycle. For heavy vehicle, the increase percentage of heavy vehicle will increase the pce value too. The significancy test result show that there is significant difference between the pce value from this study and pce value from IHCM. Right-turning Factor are variety between 1,58. Statistic test uses 95% confidence level.
