UAV using this configuration is still under ongoing development, making this configurationis still interesting as a subject for the preliminary design. Tail Sitter configuration offers the capability of an aircraft to takeoff and land vertically, yet has the capability for efficient horizontal flight like a conventional configuration aircraft. The preliminary design proces begins by considering the aspect that will affect the UAVof this configuration. Standard method used in the preliminary design of conventional aircraft and model aircraft is applied. The transition prosses from vertical flight to horizontal flight is also discussed. The result of the preliminary design procces is a UAV with canard and tracktor propulsion configuration. It is then continued with the detail design prosses and the functional testing of the UAV prototype. The result of the prosses is a Tail Sitter UAV prototype named VT-1. text
