However, the intensity of the sodium of Lati coal is quite higher compare with sodium of Na2O in Indonesia's Coal generally, which approximately 0.03-23.33% or 4.68% in coal ash on average.<p>The purpose of this research is to determine a correlation between the grade distribution, profile in coal, crystal forms and mineral types of sodium. These results can be used as a parameter to reconstruct the coal genesis of the research areas as a part of the exploration and mining processes.<p>Research results indicate that the elements of sodium are spreaded in coal prevalently. However it does not show a particular tendency clearly and it can be identified as a syngenetic mineral.<p>Regionally the distribution of sodium in coal is impacted by geological conditions and controlled by sinklin structure as well. The lateral distribution of sodium shows that the homogenity vary as the relative variation trend in the horizontal distribution of macerals composition and total sulfur contents are in the perpendicular axis of sinklin. The vertical distribution does not show the tendency of the grade distrribution of sodium on Seam T, R, and Q in a certain pattern. It can be affected of the alkali element in sea water as an ion and it has a mobile characteristic. Furthermore, the formation of sodium is also influenced by tectonic processes that occured during the process of peat being formed. text |
