Summary:Al 204.0 is one of casting aluminum with its primary alloy is copper. This aluminum will be used in 6 x 6 APC tanks that are produced by PT. Pindad. Before it is used, this aluminum is heat treated so that its mechanical properties <br /> <br /> <br /> are suitable with some specification needed. The heat treatment processes that are applied are to enhance its mechanical properties and it also affects its storage <br /> <br /> <br /> energy. <br /> <br /> <br /> This research is done to analyze aluminum mechanical properties and corrosion rates in 3,5 % NaCl solution. Heat treatment processes that are applied are varied, so that different mechanical properties will be obtained. Micro <br /> <br /> <br /> structural observation would be applied to observe the impact of heat treatment in aluminum micro structure. Corrosion test that is used in this research is polarization method by using potentiostat. From some data that are obtained, heat treatment processes that are needed to get some specification that are required are solution treatment + natural aging. Corrosion rates will be increased as the increasing of aluminum’s hardness and <br /> <br /> <br /> strength. <br />
