Summary: | The function of dredge in operation is to dredging, transporting, and mooving the materials from deep to surface. Merapin dredge is the property of PT Koba Tin, that operation since 1987 to 2002 for land operation. Because of this dredge will activate in sea operation, so to fulfill this requirement this ship need restoration and modification. This report examine about ladder structure which has dredging function. Modification is done to lengthen the ladder from 72,54 m to 83,215 m. Analysis has been done by using ansys finite element modeling programming. <br />

The calculated loading is due to chain bucket force, tension of chain bucket, the bucket weight and dredging force applied on bottom tumbler, top tumbler, ladder structure and cattray. <br />

Analyses has been done for 12ο, 25ο, 35ο, 45ο and 55ο of ladder slope and for 154, 156 and 158 number of bucket variation. The result of the analyses is the stress and displacement for such all variation ladder slope and number of bucket. <br />

The calculation obtain that the maximum von misses stress is 207.755 Mpa and the maximum displacement is 40.04 mm or 0,049% of ladder length. This result is safe if compare <br />

with allowable stress 245 Mpa and the safety factor is 1.179. |
