The capacity of the <br /> <br /> <br /> modified sorghum polishing machine is also expected to increase. <br /> <br /> <br /> The modified sorghum polishing machine TEP-3 is successfully designed and built. Research is conducted to determine the influence of speed and gap between polishing rotor and the sieve. Rotation speed of 1300, 1500, 1700 rpm and gap of 10, 12.5 and 15 mm are chosen to determine the optimum performance of the polishing machine. Depending of the speed and the gap, the percentage of clean, unclean and crack sorghum are varied from 72% to 93%, 2.02% to 25.8% and 0.79% to 24.3% respectively. The capacity of the polishing process is also varied from 24 kg/hour to 68 kg/hour. The best setting of the gap which produced the most cleanest with less crack and unclean sorghum is 15 mm at 1500 rpm. text |
