Summary: | The Industrial and Construction Sector growth in South Sulawesi had increased from one five Year planning to another. This increase of growth in industrial and construction sectors had raised the need for their supporting sectors. One of the factors reguired for success of industrialization is type C mining materials. This analysis of demand for type C mining material for 1995 had been conducted with input-output model approach. It had carried out to know how much demand for these materials from industrial and construction sector and how their contribution to regional economics of South Sulawesi and to know how this sector could enhance the growth in other production sectors. The data which had been used to analyze economic impact of this sector had been collected from input-output table of South Sulawesi of 1995 which was classified into 21 sectors, which were carried out by survey method. This research indicates that values of demand on type C mining material for 1995 are Rp 136.23 billion. The largest demand comes from construction sector (80.60%) and from cement industry (13.48%), and only 1. 16% for export. The gross added value of South Sulawesi Province on 1995 was Rp 10.42 trillions: the largest contribution was from farming sector (15.25%) and commercials (13.8%); whereas type C mining materials had contributed only 1.09%. The type C mining materials had a significant effect on industry development which was based on type C mining materials and on construction sector in the future. |
