Description
Summary:Electric power sector contributes greatly in emitting carbon dioxide into the air. Large-capacity power plants of 500 kV Java - Bali power system operate in high level of carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, carbon dioxide emissions controling of the electricity sector particulary of 500 kV Java - Bali power system can significantly

minimize the amount of carbon dioxide emissions that emits into the air.

Carbon dioxide prices make the cost of electricity production become greater. In this project, we will do calculation of optimal power flow with the cost of electricity production that has added by carbon dioxide price. The application of carbon dioxide price results different plant dispatch in calculation of optimal power flow. Since each plant is vary in carbon dioxide emission rates, the change of power plant dispatch would result different amount of carbon dioxide emissions.

The results of optimal power flow calculation with the application of carbon dioxide price shows that the system continues to decline in line with the growing price of

carbon dioxide. We could also calculate the amount of carbon dioxide cost reduction. This cost is the extra cost that must be spent to reduce carbon dioxide emissions of

the power system.
