Description
Summary:Small and medium industries that make diesel engines and engine components are now starting to grow rapidly due to their engines and engine components bigger. These developments were not accompanied by the ability of local industry producing engines and components with the uniformity of quality and good nature components interchangeability. One possible cause is no consideration of variations due to assembly tolerance stack of individual components, where the variation can not be avoided but can be controlled only in certain limits.

Determination of dimensions and tolerances in the detail drawing is determined by the dimensions and tolerances based on the analysis, begins by setting the initial tolerance component features based on various considerations, further analysis to determine the effect of individual component dimensions and tolerances to assembly variations caused by the tolerance stackup of each feature

components. Tolerance stackup analysis performed on a series of crank drive with worstcase method, which shifts the axis of the piston against the cylinder liner axis will

always occur regardless of the tolerance specified, causing the potential inability of the components are assembled, if not given the minimum compensation for a shift in the axis that may occur. In the analysis involving the geometric tolerance indicated several components that affect the potential shift in the axis so that the component tolerances must be controlled. Determination of dimensions and tolerances on each feature based on the analysis are then stated into detail drawing each component.
