With greater time of use, and increase of operational load and temperature, those equipments would reduce in terms of <br /> <br /> <br /> reliability and suffer functional failure, due to corrosion, mechanical defects, tears or cracks. To see the effects of reliability degradation, a Fitness For Service analysis is required. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this final project, the equipments are analyzed using the standards of API 579 part 12 Assessments of dent, gouge, and dent-gouge combinations level 1 and 2. This method consist of several complicated steps so a software, using Microsoft Excel 2007, is created to assist in calculations for each assessment level. The case study in <br /> <br /> <br /> this research is a dented pipingin train flare piping system which is located in Handil Field – Central Processing Area. <br /> <br /> <br /> The inspection resultsshow that piping have suffered dents in 5 areas. The dimensions of the dents in each area is unique. The calculations show that the dents in area 1, 3, 4, and 5 satisfied the acceptance criteria of level 1 and level 2, which means that the pipingis acceptable for continued operation.While, for dents in area 2 which falls outside the acceptance criteria of level 1 and level 2, is not acceptable for continued operation and the piping should be repaired or retired. Then analyze continued to indentify the parameters that influence the integrity of component that have suffered from dents. <br /> <br /> <br /> The influence of parameters that being interest of this analysis is the effects of the outside diameter and thickness of the component to the acceptance criteria of dent depth, dent spacing to nearest weld joints, and also dent spacing to <br /> <br /> <br /> major structural discontinuities. text
